Last Friday, three students from 4th of Primary came to my office and begged me to upload another song from the amazing group, The Beatles. I promised I will do it, so here we are, with the fifth post. The following song is "Eight days a week", another hit from these popular guys.
The song was written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney and released on the second album in1964, Beatles For Sale. Now you can follow the lyric and sing (not too loud, because the weather is fine in Pamplona...). The song, along with two others from the album "Baby's in Black" and "No Reply", was planned as a single release. In the end, it was released as a single only in the United States on 15 February 1965 becoming a number-one hit (their seventh).
Ooh I need your love babe, Guess you know it's true. Hope you need my love babe, Just like I need you,Ooo.
Hold me, love me, hold me, love me. I ain't got nothin' but love babe, Eight days a week.
Love you ev'ry day girl, Always on my mind. One thing I can say girl, Love you all the time, ooh
Hold me, love me, hold me, love me. I ain't got nothin' but love girl, Eight days a week.
Eight days a week I love you. Eight days a week Is not enough to show I care.

Today we have received the good news that a student from our class has won the OSASUNA'S FOUNDATION PRIZE in the category of "Essays" (redacciones). The panel of judges has taken into account his original and creative writing amongst other things and, finally, he has been the winner of all Navarre.
Congratulations for this small student and, of course, for all his mates (compaƱeros). We should be proud (orgullosos) of the class where we work. On Monday, the 23rd of May, we will celebrate in class.
Looking at both pictures, which one is the hidden student? Guess with a comment!
Clue: he likes to play football in the playgrounds with a small ball but he is used to lose (a pity, je, je).
It's time for the last post about U2. And I'm going to finish this incredible group of music with another famous song, Still haven't found what I'm looking for. It is the second track from their 1987 album The Joshua Treeand was released as the album's second single in May 1987. The song was a hit, becoming the band's second consecutive number-one single on the US after With or without you.
EXTRA POINT: WHAT DOES IT MEAN THE TITLE OF THIS SONG?
TOREVIEW: We use the comparative when we compare two things or people. We use the particle "than" to introduce the second element. Example:Pau (element 1) is taller than Trevor (element 2).
- There are two ways of putting and adjective into the comparative form:
a) With short adjectives (one or two syllables), we add-er to the adjective.
For example: clean -> cleaner long -> longer short -> shorter fast -> faster
1.Attention: with adjectives ending in -e we add only -r. nice -> nicer safe -> safer 2.Attention: with adjectives ending in -y we take away the -y and add -ier. happy -> happier easy -> easier scary -> scarier 3.Attention: with adjectives ending in consonant + vowel + consonant we double the last consonant. big -> bigger fat -> fatter thin -> thinner 4.Attention: some adjectives have irregular forms. For example: good -> better bad -> worse far -> farther / further
b) With long adjectives, we add "more" in front of the adjective.
Long adjectives have got two or more syllables. For example: beautiful -> more beautiful important -> more important boring -> more boring famous -> most famous EXERCISE 1EXERCISE 2
Beautiful Day is another succesful song by the rock band U2. It is the first track from their 2000 album, All that you Can't Leave Behind, and it was released as the album's lead single. It's one of U2's biggest hits to date.
In 2001, the song won Three Grammy Awards for Song of the Year, Record of the Year and Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal. The group has played "Beautiful Day" at every one of their concerts since the song's 2001 live debut.
REMEMBER: listen and sing at the same time.
ADVICE: this song isn't easy to sing, because the rythm and the music is a bit fast, but once you have listened twice, I think that you can do it!
1) Formal but easier way: say the hours first and then the minutes.
Example: 7:45 - seven forty-five
For minutes 01 through 09 pronounce the '0' as oh. Example: 11:06: eleven oh six.
2) More popular way
Say the minutes first and then the hours: - you must use the word "past" if the minutes are between 1 and 30. - you must use the word "to" if the minutes are between 31 and 59.
Example: 7:35: twenty five to eight / 8:40: twenty to nine.
* Another possibility of saying '15 minutes past' is: a quarter past
* Another possibility of saying '15 minutes to' is: a quarter to
* Another possibility of saying '30 minutes past' is: half past

They have released (lanzado) 12 studio albums and they have sold more than 150 million records worldwide. They have won 22 Grammy Awards (like the Oscars for films), more than any other band.

As we have explained many times in class, the rule is simple: when we are talking about something in singular we use "There is". On the other hand, when we refer to something in plurar, we use "There are".
The difference between how many and how much is that the firt one we use when we have a countable noun; and the second one, how much, talks about uncountable nouns.
Example: How many markers do you have? How much milk do you want?
We can count the markers but not the milk. Try this new exercise and check your knowledge (conocimiento) about this specific rule.

"Yesterday" is a song originally recorded by The Beatles for their 1965 album Help! According to Guinness World Records, "Yesterday" has the most cover versions of any song ever written. The song remains popular today with more than 1,600 recorded cover versions, the first hitting the United Kingdom top 10 three months after the release of Help!
According to biographers of McCartney and the Beatles, McCartney composed the entire melody in a dream one night.
Follow the lyric below and you can sing too, at the same time as Paul McCartney.
Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away.
Now it looks as though they're here to stay.
Oh, I believe in yesterday.
Suddenly,
I'm not half the man I used to be,
There's a shadow hanging over me,
Oh, yesterday came suddenly.
Why she had to go
I don't know she wouldn't say.
I said something wrong,
Now I long for yesterday.
Yesterday, love was such an easy game to play.
Now I need a place to hide away.
Oh, I believe in yesterday.
Why she had to go
I don't know she wouldn't say.
I said something wrong,
Now I long for yesterday.
Yesterday, love was such an easy game to play.
Now I need a place to hide away.
Oh, I believe in yesterday.
